Brown won the Senate seat held by Kennedy. Since Allah Subhana Wa Taala sanctioned the win, Inshah Allah, we show the good in that win in what follows.

If Brown was defeated in his Senate bid, the Democrats would have retained their 'Super Majority.' With the 'Super Majority' all that the President required to do was help the House and the Senate 'give a little and take a little' and evolve a single 'Health Bill.' Then the bill running to more than a thousand pages would have become law. It is possible that having passed the Healthcare Bill the Democratic Party might have lost control of both the Congress and the Senate in the 2010 elections. We say this because the Republicans would have resorted to "Operation Swift Boat" to confuse the electorate and regain the Congress and Senate. Now President Obama and the Democratic Party has a chance to expose the real interest of the Republican Party which is not 'Public Interest.' Is not then Brown's victory a blessing for Barack?

It is indeed a mercy from Allah Subhana Wa Taala that Brown won the Senate seat claiming that he would be the 41st Republican vote to filibuster the Healthcare Reform. With the recent Supreme Court judgment allowing Corporate Interests to issue advertisements, we could rest assured that the future elections will be adorned by thousands and thousands of "Operation Swift Boat." The victory of Brown is just one more evidence that Verse 2:255 is true.
In the old days filibuster meant the flibustering Senators talking and holding the floor and the majority party maintaining the quorum of the Senate. Unfortunately the current rules make it easy for a single Senator to hold the Senate to ransom. The Senator has to just inform the leader of the majority party of the Senate that a filibuster is on and the majority party has to vote the filibuster out with 60 votes. So the current Senate rules allow Senator Brown to single handedly block not only the Healthcare Reform but any other policy that he does not like.
There is a proposal to change the filibuster rule.

Senate Majority Leader, Harry Reed, instead of just cajoling the Republicans and complaining, should go back to the very Senate Rules that allow the filibuster and force those who wish to filibuster to actually hold the floor as in the old days. Fatigue will eventually end the filibuster, and needed legislation can be passed. Even before, the inconvenience to the other Senators will be very inconvenienced and will be more inclined to vote for cloture and end the filibuster. This takes 60 votes.

Reverting to the 'old filibuster' would tantamount to the Democrats committing 'political suicide.' In the old times the debates in the Senate were not televised. So the final outcome alone was known to the public. But this administration has opted for 'open government' and the Senate and House deliberations are televised. Under the 'old filibuster' the minority party talks in the Senate and the majority simply waits for the minority to exhaust itself. If the majority party Senator takes the floor it would imply that the majority party Senator is supporting the filibuster. As the Senate debates are televised now the Republicans could spew out any number of blatant lies and these would be telecast from the Senate floor. To counter these blatant lies the Democrats have to mount campaigns costing them money and time. We hope the 'old filibuster' never comes back in an open government.
Instead we suggest that the current filibuster when a single Senator could simply declare 'filibuster is on' be used to advantage by the Democrats. As long as the filibuster is on, a Democratic Senator takes the floor and describes the benefits to the public through the filibustered resolution and concludes bemoaning the fact that the filibuster is blocking them because they do not have a filibuster-proof majority.
In the above strategy the Democrats get to reach the public and show the public that the Democratic Party is for the good of the public and that the other party is against the 'public interest.' The Republicans have two options: one to withdraw the filibuster and allow the Healthreform and other reforms to pass or participate in the debate and explain what in their opinion is against the public interest. Then the public gets to know the nuts and bolts of the Healthcare Reform and other reforms initiated by President Barack Obama. When the facts are known the public would support President Barack Obama.
As long as the Democrats enjoyed the 'filibuster-proof majority' they did not explain to the public. The result was the 'Tax on Cadillac Plans' which increases the 'take-home pay' of middleclass was lied as taxing the middleclass. [See
The result was the traversity that Senator Brown won the seat held by Senator Kennedy, whose lifelong ambition was Healthcare Reform!
Ya Allah! The Muslims are warned about the Masih Ad-Dajjal, the false Messiah that one should not attempt to argue with him as he would so confuse the issues that the Muslims would fail. Ya Allah! Defeat those who lie to the public, and help those who really work to help the oppressed, in this case, millions of Americans who were denied affordable healthcare. Aameen, Aameen, Ya Rabbil Alameen.
