Why does God allow natural disasters?
As the philosopher David Hume (echoing Epicurus) put it in 1776: "Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is impotent. Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent. Is he both able and willing? Whence then is evil?"

In what follows, Inshah Allah, we hope to show that Allah Subhana Wa Taala is indeed Merciful to His creation. The analysis is based on one understanding of Verse 2:256 of the Holy Quran.

Does it mean Allah Subhana Wa Taala does not intervene at all? Does He allow all attrocities to happen among mankind as the tussle between the progeny of Prophet Adam, peace be upon him, and the progeny of Shaitan continues until the Day of Judgment? Do men and women in collusion with Shaitan have the permission to inflict untold suffering on the rest of mankind without limit? The answer is NO.
ALLAH Subhana Wa Taala does intervene when it is critical, like a referee in a football game intervenes, when one team indulgres in foul play.

What wrong did the people of Lut do? Is it that they practiced homosexuality? Or is it that they forced everyone in their city to homosexuality? From Verses 78 to 80 of Chapter 11 of the Holy Quran we infer that the people of Lut were in the habit of compelling others to live as they live. Such compulsion increased to such an extent that they even demanded the guests of Prophet Lut, peace be upon him, for committing abominations.
ALLAH Subhana Wa Taala intervened only when the oppression went beyond all levels. Have the people of Haiti oppressed any? Not that we know of. Thus the earthquake that struck Haiti is not a punishment from Allah Subhana Wa Taala. Why did He not protect the people of Haiti? After all many lost their lives in the earthquake and still Allah Subhana Wa Taala permitted that earthquake to happen. Why?

By Verse 5:32 the killing of one person is like killing of the whole people. If we are demanding that Allah Subhana Wa Taala should have intervened and stopped the Haiti earthquake, then we could as well demand that Allah Subhana Wa Taala stop each and every murder. Hence any who expects Allah Subhana Wa Taala to intervene in any calamity has not understood the scheme of Allah Subhana Wa Taala. In that light the comments by philosopher David Hume simply reveals his ignorance.
We look at the Haiti earthquake in another perspective from the Traditions of Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him.

We are told that the religious learned men were killed inside the Arabian Peninsula in large numbers by the followers of Abdul Wahab by the Wahhabis declaring others as Kafir when they differed with the Wahhabi interpretation of Islam. Of course now murders have increased as the guns make it easy to murder. Due to the oil based world economy, the Arabs are indeed overflowing with wealth. And the earthquakes are very frequent so much so that an earthquake becomes news only when it is one of the strongest earthquakes like the Haiti earthquake.
Why does the earthquake become frequent? When does an act become frequent? Any act becomes frequent when a number of persons become capable of performing that act. We have one well recorded development that causes the earth to shake.

What was the need for developing a blast vibration machine? From the intermingled history of development of blasting techniques and earthquake monitoring equipment, we infer that blasting operations also produce vibrations on earth similar to vibrations caused by earthquakes. So the use of a blast vibration machine and seismographs helps us to differentiate between vibrations caused by blasting and vibrations caused by earthquakes. Such a differentiation is necessary so that the world could ignore the vibrations caused by blasting and not mount relief operations meant for the sufferers due to an earthquake.
What if a new technology capable of mimicking the natural earthquake gets developed? Using that technology any group could trigger vibrations on the scale of earthquakes. These man-made earthquakes would not be declared as man-made but as natural calamities.
Is there such a technology? YES.

The scalar weapons were developed by a Japanese scientist an IQ higher than Einstein.They too, like the Americans tested their scalar weapons in the outback of Western Australia, possibly using a base in Antarctica in which to send scalar waves to their Australian transmitter to produce earthquakes and Tesla globes. The Japanese scalar scientists are tied up with various cults and feel that the Japanese emperor should rule the planet, as well as having a policy of exacting revenge on former enemies culminating in a "Final War" against the Christian west and Islamic world. It is the Japanese Aum sect and Yakuza mafia who are still leasing the Russian scalar transmitters and have steadily used them for weather engineering over America since the nineties for target practice. Bearden claims that the Japanese may be allowed by the Russians to down planes now and then. The Japanese cult members in their govt are also tied up with North Korean cult members. The Russians have been weather engineering over America since the 1960's using their interference grid to target specific areas.

Maxo Osnac Dantica was "a casualty of two countries," said his cousin, the writer Edwidge Danticat.
In fall 2004, he fled Haiti with his father, the Rev. Joseph Dantica, an 81-year-old Baptist minister whose church had been set afire by gangs. They arrived in Miami, asked for asylum and were taken into custody at Krome Service Processing Center, a federal immigration detention facility.
Soon after, when his father became violently ill and fell unconscious, Krome workers accused him of faking his symptoms. Maxo Dantica was brought in to try to talk with him but was crying so hard he could not speak. Belatedly taken to a hospital, his father died a day later, shackled to a hospital bed.
Maxo Dantica was released on his birthday, the day after his father died, and stayed in the United States for a time pursuing an immigration case, but an old drug conviction was getting in the way. About three years ago, he returned to Bel Air, overlooking downtown Port-au-Prince, and took up his father's work, running the church school and raising money for neighbors who needed help. On Jan. 12, when the earthquake struck, Dantica, 61, raced down a flight of stairs in the church compound. The school building and apartments collapsed on him.

You don't hear from people like Henry Crumpton very often. ... Now he has stepped out of the shadows to tell how just after 9/11, at age 44, he masterminded the downfall of the Taliban and al Qaeda in Afghanistan.
He did it with just a handful of CIA officers, military special operations teams and an army of Afghan tribal warriors. Crumpton probably knows more about the fight against al Qaeda and the Taliban than almost anyone else.
And now that he is out of the CIA, he makes no secret anymore about what he did to defeat them in 2001.

"Well, in a very crude way, it would be a carrot and a stick. The carrot would be 'If you come cooperate with us, we will reward you and your people.' The stick was 'If you do not cooperate, the chances of your survival are greatly diminished.' And we would prove this by attacking Taliban leaders who had rejected our overtures," Crumpton explained.
"Killing them?" Logan asked.
"Yes. And the next day, we'd talk to the tribal leader that was next door. We would make him the same offer. Given the incentive that we had set the previous day, he was much more amenable to negotiations in our favor," Crumpton replied.
"Because he heard the guy that wouldn't cooperate was killed yesterday?" Logan asked.
"Or in some cases, he saw that his fellow commander, his tribal ally was killed," Crumpton said.

I hope I am wrong. I wish my apprehensions that follow would never happen. I am afraid the enemies of America who have the superior weapon at their command are sending a veiled threat. The threat that what happened in Haiti could as well happen in America as well.
There were just two Republics in the Northern Hemisphere: the first was Haiti and the second was America. Haiti symbolised the victory of slaves over their masters. President Barack Obama might not have a slave ancestor, but First Lady Michelle has. Those who plan to rule the world under a one-world-government are supposed to have Royal-blood. If America succeeds under President Barack Obama in overcoming the economic crisis and other challenges, could the one-world-advocates hope to gain power? Their demand for racial purity would bite the dust.
Are the one-world-advocates instigating the Yakuza to revenge the dropping of Atom Bombs? Americans believe that but for the Atom Bombs the Japanese would have continued their war resulting in avoidable casualties among the Allied Troops.
What are we to do? Should America apologize to Japan for the Atom Bombs dropped at the close of World War II? NEVER.
Even granting that the dropping of the Atom Bombs was wrong, are the Yakuza justified in trying for revenge after more than 60 years, when possibly all those who fought in World War II have died long back? What is the position of Islam on this matter?

The maximum revenge the relative of the slain could take is to kill the murderer. Even if the murderer has killed more than one person, the muderer could be killed just once. What happens if the murderer dies before the relative of the slain could take revenge? Could the relative then claim the right to kill anyone else related to the murderer? NO. Likewise, whether the dropping of the Atom Bombs on the Japanese soil is justified or not, the generation that fought World War II having more or less died, there could be no revenge on that account on the Americans and other Allies of World War II now.
Islam broke the generation after generation revenge cycle. Muslims are expected to do the same. Thus all Muslims have the duty to stop any person or group on account of World War II or any clash that took place 30 years before today from taking revenge on that account.
Assuming that the Haiti earthquake is indeed a warning to America, what should America do? Should this generation of Americans apologize on behalf their fore-fathers? NO.
If there would be an attack on America irrespective of the tool used, whether it be conventional bombs or Quantum Potential Weapons, America should rather fight the attack than surrender. Muslims in America have the responsibility of defending the integrity and sovereignity of America along with other Americans as America is their country as well.
Before we close we revisit the topic of death, in the hope that the fear of death could be overcome.
