Dear brothers and sisters,                    February 9, 2010 to February 12, 2010;

Assalaamu Alaikum Wa Rahmathullahi Wa Bharakhathuhu.

Brother Faraz Beg possibly has not read the contents of the URL. Had he read the analysis he would have joined me in banning Niqab and encouraging Hijab Inshah Allah.
The above analysis is based on Verse 5:32 of the Holy Quran indicating a hypothetical situation that causes the breakdown of Shariah because of Niqab.

We have not come across any Tradition regarding illegal sex among the Companions, Allah be pleased with them, of Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, with four reliable witnesses leading to the punishment of stoning to death. All the Traditions concerning stoning to death of Muslims are based on confessions only.

Yusuf Ali 49:14
The desert Arabs say, "We believe." Say, "Ye have no faith; but ye (only)say, 'We have submitted our wills to Allah,' For not yet has Faith entered your hearts. But if ye obey Allah and His Messenger, He will not belittle aught of your deeds: for Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful."

Yusuf Ali 49:15
Only those are Believers who have believed in Allah and His Messenger, and have never since doubted, but have striven with their belongings and their persons in the Cause of Allah: Such are the sincere ones.

Yusuf Ali 49:16
Say: "What! Will ye instruct Allah about your religion? But Allah knows all that is in the heavens and on earth: He has full knowledge of all things.

What follows is written with only one intention: to convince everyone that the time of Niqab is long gone, but that of Hijab is forever. We have touched upon some historical aspects to show that there are differences between Wahhabism and Islam. We hope all the Muslims would unite behind us, Inshah Allah.

When Abdulaziz, the father of the current ruler of Saudi Arabia took the reins of the Hijaz, he called himself 'King' and not 'Caliph,' thus destroying the Khilafath. There are reports that Muhammad bin Abdul Wahab was groomed by the British to destroy Islam from inside.

We did not explicitly refer to the fact that Muhammad bin Abdul Wahhaab was groomed by the British in the following URL.

We give reference to a book which has an excellent chapter on Wahabism. Even though we do not agree with this book on certain aspects of Islam we are cent per cent in agreement with the treatment of Wahabism given in this book.

As regards the wahabism, kindly read:

From time to time a young man would call at our carpenter's shop. His attirement was that of a student doing scientific research, and he understood Arabic, Persian, and Turkish. His name was Muhammad bin Abd-ul-wahhab Najdi.

...Muhammad of Najd was the sort I had been looking for. For his scorn for the time's scholars, his slighting even the (earliest) four Khalifas, his having an independent view in understanding the Qur'an and the Sunnat were his most vulnerable points to hunt and obtain him.

...At another time I said to him, "Mut'a nikah (13) is permissible."
 He objected, "No, it is not."
 I said, "Allah declares, In return for the use you make of them, give them the mahr you have decided upon'." (14)
 He said, "'Umar prohibited two examples of mut'a practice existent in his time and said he would punish anyone who practiced it."
 I said, "You both say that you are superior to 'Umar and follow him. In addition, 'Umar said he prohibited it though he knew that the Prophet had permitted it (15). Why do you leave aside the Prophet's word and obey 'Umar's word?"
 He did not answer. I knew that he was convinced. I sensed that Muhammad of Najd desired a woman at that moment; he was single. I said to him, "Come on, let us each get a woman by mut'a nikah. We will have a good time with them. He accepted with a nod. This was a great opportunity for me, so I promised to find a woman for him to amuse himself. My aim was to ally the timidity he had about people. But he stated it a condition that the matter be kept as a secret between us and that the woman not even be told what his name was. I hurriedly went to the Christian women who had been sent forth by the Ministry of Colonies with the task of seducing the Muslim youth there. I explained the matter to one of them. She accepted to help, so I gave her the nickname Safiyya. I took Muhammad of Najd to her house. Safiyya was at home, alone. We made a one-week marriage contract for Muhammad of Najd, who gave the woman some gold in the name of "Mahr." Thus we began to mislead Muhammad of Najd, Safiyya from within, and I from without.

The mail goes on to show how Muhammad bin Abdul Wahhab was manipulated by the British spy. Do we have any reason to believe a British spy? Do we have any reason not to consider the possibility that the British spy might be telling the truth in the light of the fact that Abdulaziz had destroyed the Khilafath with the support of the British?

We performed a Google search on -- Abdul Wahab British Spy -- and Google returned 1 - 10 of about 50,300 URLs. The very first URL was:

The Hempher's Memoirs, Confessions of a British Spy.

.--- comment by Shaykh Suhayb Hasan 'Abdul Ghaffâr ---

The
Publishers claim that these memoirs remained hidden until they fell
into the hands of the Germans during World War II, who published it
as a way of slandering the British government. It was translated
into French, Arabic and Urdu. A perusal of this book makes it
abundantly clear that it is an imaginary fictional narrative, coined
deliberately to discredit Sheikh ibn Abdul Wahhab and his followers
by the British. Our evidence to prove the book is a concoction is
twofold: historical evidence from its contents, and our fruitless
search to find the original English version.
1.      We began with a trip to the British Library's Rare Books
Section, which contains books printed prior to 1975. There were 72
entries under Hampher, but none related to our subject. We found one
entry under Hampher's Memoirs (printed 1734), but these were the
memoirs of the Duke of Gloucester who recorded his relations with
the ruling family of the time.

The publishers of the offending book had also given a number of
alternative titles such as `Colonisation Ideal' and `The English spy
in Islamic countries'. Needless to say we found no such book, and
neither did our search under `spy' reveal anything useful. The
advent of computers has made access to rare and remote books very
easy, and we have been forced to conclude after an intensive search
that no such book exists and that we have a fabricated translation
published by the enemies of the Sheikh ibn Abdul Wahhab.
===

The above defense indeed makes us believe the email that we received. Why should the British discredit Sheikh ibn Abdul Wahhab, when Abdulaziz is their man in Arabia by keeping the original after their allies in Arabian Peninsula were exposed? When it is clearly mentioned that the book fell into the hands of the Germans during WW II what is the point of searching for the original in UK without searching for the same in Germany? How does one expect that the Britishers would keep such an offending book on their records or shelves? If one were really interested in locating the source of the translated versions of the book in Urdu, they should have done so in Germany. The fact that the search was done in Britain where logic indicates it would not be found forces us to think that the above refutation is a lame one. Allah Subhana Wa Taala knows best.

One of the trademarks of the Al Qaeda videos is the cutting the throat of non-Muslims by men [possibly, the person might as well be a woman] wearing Niqab. With the incidents reported in the above three links we believe the war mongers have misused the name of Islam to malign Islam and the war mongers continue in their attempt to destroy Islam. Under the circumstances is it right to claim that Niqab is still sanctioned by Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him?

The screening of the Mothers of the Believers, Allah be pleased with them, was to possibly emphasize the unique status of Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, so that after his death believing in the virtues of marrying a widow, the Mothers of the Believers, Allah be pleased with them, are not disturbed by pressuring them to marry.

===
Yusuf Ali 33:53
O ye who believe! Enter not the Prophet's houses,- until leave is given you,- for a meal, (and then) not (so early as) to wait for its preparation: but when ye are invited, enter; and when ye have taken your meal, disperse, without seeking familiar talk. Such (behaviour) annoys the Prophet: he is ashamed to dismiss you, but Allah is not ashamed (to tell you) the truth. And when ye ask (his ladies) for anything ye want, ask them from before a screen: that makes for greater purity for your hearts and for theirs. Nor is it right for you that ye should annoy Allah.s Messenger, or that ye should marry his widows after him at any time. Truly such a thing is in Allah's sight an enormity.
===

The time for Niqab was over as soon as the last Mother of the Believer, Allah be pleased with her, died. However the time for Hijab is until the Day of Judgment.

===
Yusuf Ali 24:30
Say to the believing men that they should lower their gaze and guard their modesty: that will make for greater purity for them: And Allah is well acquainted with all that they do.

Yusuf Ali 24:31
And say to the believing women that they should lower their gaze and guard their modesty; that they should not display their beauty and ornaments except what (must ordinarily) appear thereof; that they should draw their veils over their bosoms and not display their beauty except to their husbands, their fathers, their husband's fathers, their sons, their husbands' sons, their brothers or their brothers' sons, or their sisters' sons, or their women, or the slaves whom their right hands possess, or male servants free of physical needs, or small children who have no sense of the shame of sex; and that they should not strike their feet in order to draw attention to their hidden ornaments. And O ye Believers! turn ye all together towards Allah, that ye may attain Bliss.

We hope that the Wahabbis would agree to the correct interpretation of the Holy Quran and not adamantly stick to their wrong understanding that the Niqab is valid forever. The Niqab was valid, even for the lady Companions, Allah be pleased with them, of Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, during their time, and their time only. We hope the Wahhabis would adopt the Hijab for their women.

We know of a person who lived in Riyadh from October 1984 till August 1991. His wife and two daughters used to wear the Hijab. He kept his beard as per the Sunnah. A number of Saudis approached him and told him that he being a Believer should ask his family to wear the Niqab. He used to tell them that the Hijab was the right dress for them.

We appeal to all on behalf of that Muslim and others that the sisters [who were brought up in families wearing Niqab that they] abandon the Niqab and adopt the Hijab.

Ya Allah! Guide us to remove misconceptions in Islam. Ya Allah! Tune the hearts of all Believing Muslim women that they adopt the Hijab and leave the Niqab. Aameen, Aameen, Ya Rabbil Aalameen.

We would like to say that removing the bad reputation that has come to Islam because the criminals claiming to be Muslims have adopted the Niqab is indeed a 'Path of Allah Subhana Wa Taala' and is a Jihad too.

To defend the territory of Islam, the land of Shariah, from the enemies of Islam is Jihad. At the time of Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, the land of Shariah was within the Arabian Peninsula and the territory was defended by using swords, spears, and arrows. The technology of war has undergone a sea change. Now the battles are mainly to win the 'hearts and minds' of the people.

In a land of Shariah there is no permission to use circumstantial evidence and punish the people. Islam demands eye witnesses. In support we give the following Tradition.

The words "Jews false oaths camels" appear in 1 hadith(s) in Bukhari translation.

(1) Narrated Abu Qilaba: Once 'Umar bin 'Abdul 'Aziz sat on his throne in the courtyard of his house so that the people might gather before him. Then he admitted them and (when they came in), he said, "What do you think of Al-Qasama?" They said, "We say that it is lawful to depend on Al-Qasama in Qisas, as the previous Muslim Caliphs carried out Qisas depending on it." Then he said to me, "O Abu Qilaba! What do you say about it?" He let me appear before the people and I said, "O Chief of the Believers! You have the chiefs of the army staff and the nobles of the Arabs. If fifty of them testified that a married man had committed illegal sexual intercourse in Damascus but they had not seen him (doing so), would you stone him?" He said, "No." I said, "If fifty of them testified that a man had committed theft in Hums, would you cut off his hand though they did not see him?" He replied, "No." I said, "By Allah, Allah's Apostle never killed anyone except in one of the following three situations: (1) A person who killed somebody unjustly, was killed (in Qisas,) (2) a married person who committed illegal sexual intercourse and (3) a man who fought against Allah and His Apostle and deserted Islam and became an apostate." Then the people said, "Didn't Anas bin Malik narrate that Allah's Apostle cut off the hands of the thieves, branded their eyes and then, threw them in the sun?" I said, "I shall tell you the narration of Anas. Anas said: "Eight persons from the tribe of 'Ukl came to Allah's Apostle and gave the Pledge of allegiance for Islam (became Muslim). The climate of the place (Medina) did not suit them, so they became sick and complained about that to Allah's Apostle. He said (to them ), "Won't you go out with the shepherd of our camels and drink of the camels' milk and urine (as medicine)?" They said, "Yes." So they went out and drank the camels' milk and urine, and after they became healthy, they killed the shepherd of Allah's Apostle and took away all the camels. This news reached Allah's Apostle , so he sent (men) to follow their traces and they were captured and brought (to the Prophet). He then ordered to cut their hands and feet, and their eyes were branded with heated pieces of iron, and then he threw them in the sun till they died." I said, "What can be worse than what those people did? They deserted Islam, committed murder and theft." Then 'Anbasa bin Said said, "By Allah, I never heard a narration like this of today." I said, "O 'Anbasa! You deny my narration?" 'Anbasa said, "No, but you have related the narration in the way it should be related. By Allah, these people are in welfare as long as this Sheikh (Abu Qilaba) is among them." I added, "Indeed in this event there has been a tradition set by Allah's Apostle. The narrator added: Some Ansari people came to the Prophet and discussed some matters with him, a man from amongst them went out and was murdered. Those people went out after him, and behold, their companion was swimming in blood. They returned to Allah's Apostle and said to him, "O Allah's Apostle, we have found our companion who had talked with us and gone out before us, swimming in blood (killed)." Allah's Apostle went out and asked them, "Whom do you suspect or whom do you think has killed him?" They said, "We think that the Jews have killed him." The Prophet sent for the Jews and asked them, "Did you kill this (person)?" They replied, "No." He asked the Al-Ansars, "Do you agree that I let fifty Jews take an oath that they have not killed him?" They said, "It matters little for the Jews to kill us all and then take false oaths." He said, "Then would you like to receive the Diya after fifty of you have taken an oath (that the Jews have killed your man)?" They said, "We will not take the oath." Then the Prophet himself paid them the Diya (Blood-money)." The narrator added, "The tribe of Hudhail repudiated one of their men (for his evil conduct) in the Pre-lslamic period of Ignorance. Then, at a place called Al-Batha' (near Mecca), the man attacked a Yemenite family at night to steal from them, but a. man from the family noticed him and struck him with his sword and killed him. The tribe of Hudhail came and captured the Yemenite and brought him to 'Umar during the Hajj season and said, "He has killed our companion." The Yemenite said, "But these people had repudiated him (i.e., their companion)." 'Umar said, "Let fifty persons of Hudhail swear that they had not repudiated him." So forty-nine of them took the oath and then a person belonging to them, came from Sham and they requested him to swear similarly, but he paid one-thousand Dirhams instead of taking the oath. They called another man instead of him and the new man shook hands with the brother of the deceased. Some people said, "We and those fifty men who had taken false oaths (Al-Qasama) set out, and when they reached a place called Nakhlah, it started raining so they entered a cave in the mountain, and the cave collapsed on those fifty men who took the false oath, and all of them died except the two persons who had shaken hands with each other. They escaped death but a stone fell on the leg of the brother of the deceased and broke it, whereupon he survived for one year and then died." I further said, "'Abdul Malik bin Marwan sentenced a man to death in Qisas (equality in punishment) for murder, basing his judgment on Al-Qasama, but later on he regretted that judgment and ordered that the names of the fifty persons who had taken the oath (Al-Qasama), be erased from the register, and he exiled them in Sham."  (Book #83, Hadith #37)

Any practice that makes the eye witness impossible cannot be part of Islam. If Muslims continue with the practice of Niqab, the Muslim Judges have either to let the criminals go free and let the criminals create mischief in the Shariah lands or take recourse to circumstantial evidence which is not part of Islam. We give the following Tradition to show that circumstantial evidence was denied by Allah Subhana Wa Taala.

The words "reddish hair" appear in 1 hadith(s) in Abudawud translation.

(1) Narrated Abdullah Ibn Abbas: Hilal ibn Umayyah was one of three people whose repentance was accepted by Allah. One night he returned from his land and found a man with his wife. He witnessed with his eyes and heard with his ears. He did not threaten him till the morning. Next day he went to the Apostle of Allah (peace_be_upon_him) in the morning, and said: Apostle of Allah! I came to my wife at night and found a man with her. I saw with my own eyes and heard with my own ears. The Apostle of Allah (peace_be_upon_him) disliked what he described and he took it seriously. Thereupon the following Qur'anic verse came down: "And those who make charges against their spouses but have no witnesses except themselves, let the testimony of one of them...." When the Apostle of Allah (peace_be_upon_him) came to himself (after the revelation ended), he said: Glad tidings for you, Hilal. Allah, the Exalted, has made it easy and, a way out for you. Hilal said: I expected that from my Lord. The Apostle of Allah (peace_be_upon_him) said: Send for her. She then came. The Apostle of Allah (peace_be_upon_him) recited (the verses) to them that the punishment in the next world was more severe than that in this world. Hilal said: I swear by Allah, I spoke the truth against her. She said: He told a lie. The Apostle of Allah (peace_be_upon_him) said: Apply the method of invoking curses on each other. Hilal was told: Bear witness. So he bore witness before Allah four times that he spoke the truth. When he was about to utter a fifth time, he was told: Hilal, fear Allah, for the punishment in this world is easier than that in the next world; and this is the deciding one that will surely cause punishment to you. He said: I swear by Allah. Allah will not punish me for this (act), as He did not cause me to be flogged for this (act). So he bore witness a fifth time invoking the curse of Allah on him if he was one of those who told lies. Then the people said to her: Testify. So she gave testimony before Allah that he was a liar. When she was going to testify a fifth time, she was told: Fear Allah, for the punishment in this world is easier than that in the next world. This is the deciding one that will surely cause punishment to you. She hesitated for a moment, and then said: By Allah, I shall not disgrace my people. So she testified a fifth time invoking the curse of Allah on her if he spoke the truth. The Apostle of Allah (peace_be_upon_him) separated them from each other, and decided that the child would not be attributed to its father. Neither she nor her child would be accused of adultery. He who accused her or her child would be liable to punishment. He also decided that there would be no dwelling and maintenance for her (from the husband), as they were separated without divorce. He then said: If she gives birth to a child with reddish hair, light buttocks, wide belly and light shins, he will be the child of Hilal. If she bears a dusky child with curly hair, fat limbs, fat shins and fat buttock he will be the child of the one who was accused of adultery. She gave birth to a dusky child with curly hair, fat limbs, fat shins and fat buttocks. The Apostle of Allah (peace_be_upon_him) said: Had there been no oaths I should have dealt with her severely. Ikrimah said: Later on he became the chief of the tribe of Mudar. He was not attributed to his father.  (Book #12, Hadith #2247a)

Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, would have dealt with Hilal's wife but for the oath that was taken as ordained by Allah Subhana Wa Taala.

We request all Muslim brothers and sisters to join in this Jihad. If I get killed for waging this Jihad, I would have succeeded; if Allah Subhana Wa Taala sanctions the ban of the Niqab not only in the West but everywhere, I would have succeeded. Allahu Akbar.

Are you for real????!!!

I think you being a teacher for 30 years have got a little too much self-righteous… I know you think Niqab is non-obligatory… but ban it??? In the presence of so many Hadith? Based on a fatwa by a senile head cleric from Al-Azhar? Is that the solution for you sir???

Dear brothers and sisters,                  February 7, 2010;

Assalaamu Alaikum Wa Rahmathullahi Wa Bharakhathuhu.

The British schools are given the freedom to ban the Niqab, the face veil. Alhamdhulillah it has been shown that the Niqab is bad for Islam. Please see

The Niqab is a social custom of the Bedouin tribes and is not part of Islam. Let us not be carried away by the propoganda of the Wahhabis and believe that the Niqab is part of Islam. Please read the contents of the above link for details.

Please visit the following URL. On the right column there is a poll asking the question

===

Should the veil be banned in schools?

===

Please vote YES and serve Islam.

Kindly forward to all your friends so that they too have an oportunity to earn the pleasure of Allah Subhana Wa Taala, Inshah Allah.

As a teacher of more than three decades I know the importance of the eye-contact between the teacher and the student in a class room. Denying eye contact reduces the lecture to be non-interactive. In that situation, the lecturer can be replaced by a video movie.

Please ban the Niqab.

With prayers to Allah Subhana Wa Taala,

Your brother,

Mohideen Ibramsha
