Dear friends, June 22, 2010; Assalaamu Alaikum. [Peace forever.] Nitin looks at the able-bodied lazy beggar and hopes that he would give that lazy beggar raw material and get the finished product from him. He believes he can get the lazy beggar to work. Such a scheme is appealing. It would be practical only when there is none else to give a rupee or two to the lazy beggar. I believe such would never happen. First and foremost the lazy beggars came because people believe and toss a couple of coins; satisfy their religious or any other requirement; and move on. I am looking at a honest, self-righteous person who is struck by disease and cannot move about earning or even doing any work wherever he is. First and foremost he needs to be cured. Then comes the question of his doing work and earning etc. We are looking at opposite ends of human behavior and formulating schemes. We could have both models. As and when Nitin finds an able bodied, lazy beggar he could give raw material to the lazy beggar, get two carpets done by him, collect one carpet and let the lazy beggar sell the other carpet and live. Likewise Ibramsha could sit with the sick person, feed him, and then make him whole. Flexibility is the key. Whatever model you choose -- let me draw my redline now: No interest in any of our dealings. Any inkling of interest in GC operations, I am off. As regards registering as per local rules, the respect of the Interim Committee is in its logical and correct guidance, and not in the legal framework. We could register independent bodies and be philosophically united. Rest in next. Hi guys, I am a new here, my name is Shmuel and I am a trustee of GC in UK. I agree with Nitin. Let us think logically: how much money and effort have been invested in Africa, Middle East, India and all other problematic regions? Did it help? The situation is only getting worse. Why? Because we do not treat roots but branches. There are enough food, cloths, shelters on the planet to feed and accommodate all people around, we do not need to produce anything any more, simply no need for that. What we should do is how to unite as a Global Family in order to live in harmony, to change our attitude from self concern to global concern and disseminate this kind of attitude around the world. It does not mean that we should not help others with food, shelter, health services and etc.. but at the same ime we should keep in our mind that is not a grassroots solution to our current problems. I also agree with Nitin that we should not beg for money as much as others do but to earn it by ourselves. Opportunities are endless and Promotional Merchandise is a very good idea, I really like it. Unity, Shmuel

I understood your philosophy very well and now try to understand mine--- Let us consider the example of blankets over here.
if we see a begger on the road who is absolutely fine and not at all handicap or somewhat handicap-- there is no need to donate a blanket to him, we will teach him how to make his own blanket, provide him the raw material on our cost for 2 blankets, when he makes 2 blanket, we will give him one for his own and rest other we will sell in the market and will use that money to buy the raw material for the next 2.
The whole point is why to make people dependent on our self???? Your practice is quite great for some time, but You see if we follow your practice for a longer period people will never pay us back- after some time they will already assume that we will consider it as charity donation and one day we will have to take blankets from others
So the whole point is to engage people in one or the other work- through which GC can do its own resource generation, you see now a days financial situations are so poor that no person is able to donate any money to charity and most of the charity organization in the world has stopped their activities, why should we follow them. Why not our charity organization has something special by which we dont have to spread our hands in front of others for seeking donations and all such, why not we should have our own resource generation system. There are so many options in the world for eg-
selling of art and craft. selling of merchandise selling of service etc etc etc

[Peace forever.] The best teacher is one who teaches the student to learn by herself or himself. That does not mean the teacher does not convey any fact at all. He/ She does both. Likewise we hope that poverty would be eliminated by everyone becoming self sufficient. Mutual dependence by different persons producing different products gives variety in life. However there are occasions when we do need to spoon feed an individual. For instance when one is struck by a debilitating disease, we do need to give shelter, food, clothing, even physiotherapy until the individual becomes strong enough to be self-supporting. When I was earning a handsome salary during 1984 - 91 in Saudi Arabia, my co-brother desired that I help his son through the university education. I offered to give it as a gift. He suggested that instead of a gift, I give it as a loan to him so that he has the urge to earn and pay back. I did not like to give him the conventional loan that has interest associated with it. So I suggested to my nephew that he takes the loan but the accounting would be in gold. When he receives the money, we would look at the price of gold and record the loan in both Rupees and grams of 22 carat gold. When he returns the loan, we would likewise record the currencies returned, but also record the equivalent gold. The loan gets repaid when the outstanding gold becomes zero. This scheme ensured that neither of us suffered due to inflation; and also that there was no specific time limit to repay the loan. I am happy to say that he did so. Further he moved to USA before me. When I came to USA, the college would not pay me until I had served for one month. During the first month he gave me loan and I repaid again on the gold account. Can we operate this way? Whenever we give a loan without any specific time limit, there is a possibility that the receipient might never be able to pay it back. In that case it becomes a charity. I suggest that we do give blankets etc., but give it as a loan to be repaid; the beneficiary indicates the possible time of repayment. In case circumstances do not allow the repayment to be completed in the requested period, we give more time as desired by the beneficiary. When the third time also the beneficiary could not repay the loan, we treat is as a gift. As and when the beneficiary repays it would be recorded as a charitable donation. What is the nature of this loan? Is it a business? Is it charity? It is both. I have corrected your write-up assuming that we approve this philosophy. Rest in next. I have written the below article for the GC sites from the Section Chairman's Desk- Can you have a proof reading of it and make it look more professional and perfect. regards Nitin
Global Concern as the name suggests is a emerging volunteer based, non-profit, charity organization with the aim to provide not answers but solutions to some of the major Concerns of the world.
We beleive that all the root cause of the problems in the world is poverty and poverty can not be solved by giving some blankets, food, books to the poor and needy. It can only be solved when each and everyone in the world will stand on their feet. We might give blanket, shelter, food, books etc not as a gift, but as a loan. The loan shall be repaid by equivalent value; blanket for blanket; food for food etc. The time to pay back the loan would be decided by the debtor. Even though we expect the loan to be repaid as agreed on the date and time specified, we would reschedule the loan if necessary. Such rescheduling would be done two times, beyond which the loan would be written off treating the same as charity. We follow the above scheme just to ensure that each of us can hold our head high that we did not become resigned to a life of dependency. We would like every one to be economically self-sufficient. This could be through employment or through a sustaining business activity be that agriculture, industry, education or any other field. When they could earn for themself and fulfill their needs and requirements we feel happy that we have removed poverty from some. The model of GC is not mere charity model, it is somewhat a business model for the charity, where people come and learn about things related to education, employment, work, and enjoy.
We dont offer them free money, we dont offer them free blankets, we dont offer them free food and books.
We teach them to create all this for themselves, we make them self-sufficient and independent rather than being dependent on some charity organization.
As per the members of Global Concern, we always smile and feel happy, I personally share jokes, sms, emails with all my staff, it doesnt mean I am not serious in Charity organization. Its like what we do is for the self happiness and satisfaction. I do everything to bring smile on other's face, Be it sharing a sms joke, a prank email, doing a social work, helping someone with their work or whatever, the main point is to bring smile on the faces around me and make people laugh and forget their pain for sometime.
Though I am always thankful to all the people around me but I would like to give my special thanks to few people over here to tell them how much I love them and how much thankful I am to them for helping me in making my dreams come true.
First of all I would like to say thanks to Mrs. Julia Grana Navia Our Secretary General for Global Concern and more than this she is like a mother, a guardian for me, who has always helped me in all my good and bad time and has supported me in GC. I would like to pass my thanks to Mr. Franz Kellner and Dr. Mohideen Ibramsha whose knowledge and skills have always helped me to raise GC up and high, they have always been like a shelter for GC and me. They have always given their best for the GC with their time, skills, knowledge and above all the efforts.
I would like to say thanks to all the other Trustees, Regional Directors, Members, Volunteers, Supporters and every one associated with GC in one or the other way for being with me in this noble cause. Thanks a lot for being a part of my family in one of the other form. You people have really given me a big big family and I am really thankful to you all for the same and will always try to be a good and responsible head of the family.
Lastly I would like to give my thanks to our first staff members of Global Concern Miss. Sushmita Yadav, Miss. Sushma Tanwar and above all I would like to give my speciall thanks to Mr. Abhishek Bhardwaj and Mr. Devesh Kumar for their continous efforts and presence with me in all my web related projects, their day and night hard work has really helped me to give time to other work.
