  •          Gold Medal winner for First Rank in Electrical Engineering BS from the University of Madras, Madras, India.

  •          First Computer Ph.D. of the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, India straight after BS.

  •          The only Computer Expert on Deputation to the Asian Institute of Technology, Bangkok, Thailand during May to July 1984 from among all the experts in India.

  •          The only participant from the whole of the Middle East in the Second Bilingual Computing Conference held at the University of Cambridge in September 1990.

  •          First faculty member of the Indian Institute of Technology, New Delhi to be promoted to the post of Professor in absentia.

  •          A proposal to start a National Institute of Compunication Entrepreneurship was approved by the Electronics Commission of the Government of India, but fell through because of a change of Government in 1980-81.

  •          Supervisor of the only Ph.D. scholar of the Indian Institute of Technology, New Delhi, to have submitted the Ph.D. thesis just after two years of study after BS.

  •          Supervisor of the first classified Ph.D. thesis of the Indian Institute of Technology, New Delhi.
