In the name of Allah, Most Beneficent, Most Merciful.
The picture in the home page is one of the proofs of the divinity of the Holy Quran. Read about this miracle in item 5 in this blog published on February 16, 2006. You might visit the URL http://www.bilal-prayer.com/Quran_en.html
The life of Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, was the practical demonstration of the Holy Quran. Thus, the Traditions of Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, are the explanations of the Holy Quran. The Verses of the Holy Quran were recorded in writing as they were revealed and during the month of Ramadan the Holy Quran revealed until then was recited in the order in which it was to be compiled. During the last Ramadan, this compiled version of the Holy Quran was recited twice. When the Holy Quran was assembled, the written records of the Verses were collected and sequenced.
To differentiate between the Verses and the Traditions, no Tradition was recorded in writing, but was memorized. From http://www.pmo.gov.my/WebNotesApp/hadism.nsf/About%20Hadith?OpenPage&BaseTarget=_self we find the five conditions to be satisfied by the narrators for a Tradition to be collected. They are:
- Continuity of chain of narrators
- Uprightness of narrator
- Exactitude of narrator
- Freedom from eccentricity and
- Freedom from blemish.
Please visit the URL above to find the details of these five characteristics.
The five conditions listed above do not verify the semantics of the Traditions. However, 39:23 of the Holy Quran declares that the Holy Quran is consistent. As a Tradition is the explanation of some part of the Holy Quran, any authentic Tradition must be consistent with the Holy Quran. Thus, we add a test of consistency as an additional condition for the authenticity of the Traditions.
A Tradition that is consistent with a part of the Holy Quran or an already established authentic Tradition is authentic; any Tradition that is inconsistent with a part of the Holy Quran or an authentic Tradition is not authentic.
We pray to God Almighty to guide us to identify those Traditions that are not authentic and remove any confusion caused by such a spurious Tradition.
